The highest ranking solutions are Temperature Optimization, Occupancy Sensors, and Window Tinting. We chose Occupancy sensors for the following reasons:
- Temperature Optimization is already implemented throughout the campus, and standardization would be difficult to define and follow.
- Window Tinting is already implemented in every new construction, and almost every south facing window
Occupancy sensors have the following advantages:
- Their efficacy is easy to measure
- Studies exist supporting their efficacy
- Low initial cost
- Low maintenance cost
- Low installation and maintenance complexity
- Telemetry equipment and data can be further used to measure the efficacy of other solutions In the future
